Palmera, Bergen 2023

Palmera was transformed into an experimental exhibition of Guttorm’s sculptures, where thin cast panels, wooden structures, pigments, metal powders, and acids became geometric compositions responding to the building’s 1950s architecture and 1960s minimalist references. Using a modular system, the works repeated and recombined to form larger compositions.

The interaction of pigments and metals created distinctive textures, salts, and patinas that shift color over time, with some surfaces showing ongoing corrosion. The exhibition highlighted material transformation, temporality, and the interplay between structure, space, and process, inviting visitors to experience sculpture as a living, evolving presence.
